The Citation Group is pleased to announce their latest acquisition of Education Personnel Management (EPM) – a specialist in HR and payroll support to the education sector.
Comprised of over 140 expert HR and payroll advisors, EPM has been supporting schools and education trusts since 1993, with a client list of over 1,300 establishments across 100 plus local authorities.
The acquisition marks a move into the education sector for the Wilmslow-based business services group and enables the Group to expand its offering to its client database of over 30,000.
There are several core reasons for the acquisition of EPM by the Group, chief amongst them being the ability to grow the Group’s client base in the education sector. It’s a highly attractive market and EPM’s existing HR and payroll offering provides the perfect way in for the Group’s existing Health & Safety and ISO product portfolio.
EPM is a business with a strong service-led culture with values that fit perfectly into the Group’s vision and philosophy. With a focus on client and colleague engagement as a fundamental part of their growth strategy, EPM is a strong cultural fit for the Group’s wider portfolio.
The Citation Group CEO, Chris Morris, comments: “Having EPM on board and part of the Citation family is an exciting and important development in the story of The Citation Group.
As an established and successful business with a strong reputation in their sector, working with EPM means that the group will be able to address a highly attractive market with services that perfectly complement our existing products. Culturally, EPM is a great fit. They run their business in the same way as the existing Group businesses, so it gives us the perfect opportunity to create a forum that allows us to all share best practice and knowledge across the Group.”
Jennie Elliot, CEO at EPM, added: “Joining The Citation Group is the perfect next step for EPM. For over 20 years we’ve been developing our business into a market-leading provider, so becoming part of the broader Group feels like a natural progression.
“This will allow EPM to move forward into a new phase. The added benefit of being able to provide top-class Health & Safety services to our existing and growing education sector base means we can open new doors for the business and give our schools a stronger suite of resources to use.”
